Do you ever find yourself sounding negative when really all you may be doing is decompressing from your day? Years ago, I worked with a psychologist and he taught us that taking 10 minutes at the end of your day to decompress is not only smart but healthy.
Audibly expressing, or talking about what is stressing us, has significant improvements in our overall health and well-being. Just 10 minutes of talking or writing down these stresses may help to improve immune function and reduce the number of hormones, mainly cortisol, that are being produced. We may feel less anxious and even a little calmer because of it.
Too much focusing on the negative will have a negative physical impact on our body and mind. So take a few minutes at the end of your day, to talk to a friend or loved one, or make yourself a cup of tea and write down some notes from your day. It may just change your mood.
