I love my steamer. I use it just as much as my slow cooker. I do a lot of food prep but I don’t really enjoy it, so I need to keep it simple or it won’t get done. Food prep is important to me so I can feed my body the nutrients it needs to sustain the energy I need from it.
During the winter months, it is all about soup. I load the steamer with cabbage, carrots, sweet potatoes, yams, zucchini, squash, onions, garlic and really anything else I can find. In the water tray, I add spices. Oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme, miso are just a few.
The reason I add the spices this way is so the water, infused with beautiful herbs can be used as the base of my soup. You just made your broth which is loaded with nutrients.
Then simply blend it all together to the consistency you like your soup at. Stays fresh in the fridge for 3 days or freeze it.
Enjoy with love… Connie Oliwa CYT, RHN
